Wordwall——Create your own classroom game in just a few minutes!😯

Image
Hi guys! Welcome back to Explore English Teaching with Leah!  Before we start our adventure, let me ask you a question. Do you like playing games? have you ever played an English learning game?  Personally, I remember when I was younger, a popular game for young children in computer classes was a spelling game. There was a picture of a little frog trying to cross a river and to do so the students had to spell the letters on a lotus leaf and for each correct spelling, the frog could jump forward one lotus leaf until they got all the words right. It is certainly the most fun for the students to learn new words in a game! Although the children enjoy the frog game, it can be boring to use the same game all the time. Now, however, teachers can create their own games online through the website. Today we will take a look at a fantastic game-making website: Wordwall. 👉Click here for a first glimpse  https://wordwall.net/ Wordwall is an online game creation site where teachers can use template

Hi guys! Welcome back to Explore English Teaching with Leah! Today I would like to introduce you to a great helper for the TBLT— WebQuest 👉Click here for a first glimpse  http://questgarden.com/ Have you heard of WebQuest before? WebQuest is a new concept that I have recently come across. "A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation." Teachers can create their own WebQuest or search for existing WebQuests by limiting the topics, subjects and sections they can use. Here is are some tutuorials of using WebQuest👇 Let's take a look at An English Holiday as an example of what you can find in a WebQuest! Evaluations The task is for students to work in small groups, and plan the ultimate trip to Engl

A few thought about mobile learning and word connecting

Hi guys! Welcome back to Explore English Teaching with Leah! 😁😁😁 Today I would like to share some ideas for moblie learning and a funny game with you. The information age provides new learning methods and rich resources for foreign language teaching but also brings new problems and challenges. In the era of rapid development of information technology, traditional classroom learning can no longer satisfy students' English learning needs. Therefore, Information Communication Technologies were introduced into the classroom. Mobile Learning is a learning style that can happen at any time, anywhere, with the help of handheld mobile devices. Compared with E-learning and Distance Learning, Mobile Learning emphasizes learning through electronic mobile devices, mobile communication networks and wireless networks. Hence, learners are able to learn in an unfixed location through Mobile Learning. Currently, mobile learning devices are mainly smartphones, tablet computers and personal comput

The British Council's multimedia English learning website is a free English learning website set up by the British Council, one of the organisers of the IELTS exam. You can watch videos online, follow step-by-step instructions and practice your English. You can find English Skills Training, Grammar, Vocabulary, Business English, General English and IELTS courses in the menu bar of the website. Let's take listening as an example. First, you need to choose your level, which is divided into Elementary, Pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate and Advanced. The second step is to choose the course you prefer. The course provides not only the audio but also some tasks, in terms of vocabulary and comprehension of the audio. From my point of view, the listening content is relevant to daily life and can also be used as a suitable material to practise oral English. At the end of the exercises, there is often a discussion area for learners to comment, where you can see what ot
